Save the date for a truckload of fun!
On Sunday, June 8, the City of Ottawa is hosting the Public Works Big Wheels Expo! This is a free event for kids, and for kids at heart, to get a closer look at vehicles from the City’s Public Works and Infrastructure and Water Services departments and learn more about what these vehicles – and their operators – do.
The event will include vehicles such as garbage trucks, snowplows, a log truck, a loader, a road painting truck, a traffic signal display, a sidewalk sweeper, a hydraulic crane truck, and much more.
For young people thinking about an operational career in Public Works, this is a chance to speak to heavy equipment operators about their day-to-day work and to learn from our human resources staff on how to apply for positions.
Date: Sunday, June 8, 2025
Time: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
*Sensory friendly time from 9 am to 9:30 am for those who require lighter crowds
Location: Ottawa Stadium, 300 Coventry Road
